WESTFIELD, NJ — Firefighters responded to a basement fire Tuesday evening at a home on North Euclid Avenue near East Broad Street.

Residents who were home at the time were able to get out safely, according to Battalion Chief Tim Brennan of the Westfield Fire Department.

“There was more smoke damage than anything else,” Brennan said at the scene around 8:20 p.m. “No fire damage. Everyone was out when we got here.”
