WESTFIELD, NJ – Parts of the already busy downtown could be a bit busier Thursday and Friday as utility workers upgrade electric facilities on four streets.
The work in Westfield is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday on Clark Street, Cowperthwaite Place, Ferris Place and Prospect Street, Lauren Ugorji, a spokeswoman for PSE&G, said.
“We are upgrading our electric facilities in the area, which involves new poles and equipment,” Ugorji said in an email. “We have not requested street closures.”
The Westfield Area YMCA had advised visitors to its main facility at 220 Clark St., to allow additional travel time during the roadwork.
“This work will involve detours. At times, it could involve road closures. Please allow extra time to travel to and from the Main Y Facility,” the YMCA’s announcement said.
