Sunday, Dec. 22 – “SILENT NIGHTS” Service – 7 p.m.
Join us for a special Advent time of prayer, Scripture, music and reflection for those struggling to find joy at Christmas due to recent or lingering difficulty with loss, as well as for those who would appreciate a quiet, meditative break from the busyness of the season.
Tuesday, Dec. 24 – CHRISTMAS EVE – 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.
We recall God’s coming into the world through Jesus—first, with our annual Children’s/Youth Pageant at 5 p.m., followed by our traditional Candlelight Celebration of Scripture, carols and story at 10 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 25 – CHRISTMAS DAY
We gather for a time of Scripture, song, and Reflection at 10 a.m. on this day when we welcome and give thanks to God for our greatest gift — our brother, teacher and leader, Jesus.
Sunday, Dec. 29 – Carol Sing and “Ask the Minister & Music Director” – 10 a.m.
We continue the celebration of Christmas with our annual Carol Sing and “Ask the Minister & Music Director.” Come with your biblical, spiritual and music questions — Christmas-related or not — and Rev. Joy Mounts and Dr. Barbara Thomson will field as many as possible.
First Congregational Church is a congregation of welcoming and open-hearted people who have discovered the freedom and joy a faith life offers. As a member of the United Church of Christ, we come from a broad mix of denominational backgrounds, including Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, Episcopal, Lutheran and Quaker, even no faith background at all.
