The Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity, 315 First St., in Westfield welcomes the community to an interactive seminar, "How to Disagree: Maintaining Personal & Community Relationships," from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at the church on Sunday, Nov. 17, with check-in at 2 p.m.
During its inaugural event, The Healing Project, a committee of professionals and community members gathered by the church, will serve as a channel for peace, offering an open forum for discussion and conflict resolution in a safe, nonpartisan, nonjudgmental, kind and courteous setting.
The Healing Project steering committee believes that our country and our community are under siege from within. We are experiencing significant division among us. Long-standing relationships are suffering and communication is often broken. There is distrust of each other, institutions, religious organizations and corporations.
There is lack of compromise and political bickering. The result is a palpable and infectious ripple effect of tension. Our mission is to begin to soothe and heal our community. We are all human and have feelings, and we all deserve to be heard without judgment. We must do better for ourselves and each other. Our future depends on it.
Please join us and help our community begin to heal. For registration and questions, email TheHealingProjectNJ@gmail.com.
