2017 Downtown Westfield 5K & Pizza Extravaganza Set for July 26

WESTFIELD, NJ — Thousands are expected to participate in Downtown Westfield’s 16th annual 5K & Pizza Extravaganza on Wednesday, July 26, at 7 p.m. Organized by the Downtown Westfield Corporation, the “Pizza Run” attracted more than 2,200 runners and thousands of spectators last year.

The run is one of the largest non-corporate 5K races in the state. Proceeds will be earmarked for Downtown Westfield streetscape improvements, such as new street lights, sidewalks, crosswalks and landscaping.

After the race, pizza, beverages and desserts will be provided to runners by Westfield establishments and awards will be given out. Everyone will be able to enjoy a DJ and live music by Michael Craig Band & Fog.

Runners must pre-register at PracticeHard.com by midnight July 24. The fee is $33 ($30 for USATF members). Tech shirts to the first 2,500 entrants and caps to the first 600.

Parking on-street and in lots will be free after 3 p.m. on race day.
