WESTFIELD, NJ – Nine Westfield High School students have signed national letters of intent indicating their commitments to participate in college athletics, the athletic department announced.

The nine commitment letters include student-athletes in softball, boys and girls lacrosse, girls golf and boys soccer, Westfield High School Athletic Director Sandra Mamary announced.

  • Erica Lawrence will play softball at Saint Joseph’s University.
  • Julia Romano will play softball at Lafayette College.
  • Anna Bowman will play golf at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
  • Carley Farella will play girls lacrosse at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
  • Olivia Shields will play girls lacrosse at Bucknell University.
  • Griffin Aslanian will play boys lacrosse at Georgetown University.
  • Devon McLane will play boys lacrosse at Brown University.
  • Koury Kania will play boys lacrosse at Mercer County College.
  • Henry Schwartz will play soccer at Denison University.

"This representation of student-athletes is indicative of our continued tradition of athletic excellence in sports and academics," Mamary said. "These student-athletes and their coaches work countless hours on their skills and teamwork. They possess a strong work ethic made up of dedication, persistence and a no quit attitude."
