FANWOOD, NJ — Fanwood’s famous “Christmas House” is back with a winter wonderland of holiday decorations including the classic Peanuts and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer cartoon characters, candy canes and a nativity scene.

It’s the fifth consecutive year that Greg Roser and his family have brightened 83 Paterson Road with their annual Christmas House light show. Preparations for the 20,000 light extravaganza begin in September, according to Roser, who makes some pieces himself and combines them with purchased displays.

The scene includes Christmas music playing to set the holiday mood and a special visit from Santa Claus on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. or until the last child is seen by Santa. Each child will receive an age-appropriate gift; there is no charge for the event and everyone is welcome. However, donations will be accepted for the NJ Institute for Disabilities www.njid.org, with all proceeds going to the charity and all expenses being incurred by the Roser Family.
