They will be filming this week on Thursday and Friday from 8:30 p.m. until approximately 4 a.m. near Eastman Plaza/Street and under the train trestle. The area will be transformed into a set from 1942.

The series is based on the novel by Philip Roth and stars Winona Ryder and John Turturro. David Simon and Ed Burns are writers and executive producers.

Thanks to Gabe Bailer and the DMC Committee and Cranford Police Department for working with HBO on this project.

According to The New Yorker magazine, Philip Roth’s novel “The Plot Against America” is a masterwork of counterfactual history, a what-if story in which Charles Lindbergh, the aviation hero and Nazi sympathizer, is elected President in 1940, leading to the widespread persecution of Jews in the United States. The novel is also a counterfactual masterwork of personal history.
