Three Teens Charged in Thursday's Home Invasion-Robbery in Fanwood

FANWOOD, NJ — Three teenagers were charged Monday in connection with a home invasion-robbery on Farley Avenue that took place Thursday evening, according to Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo. 

According to police, on July 13 at about 8:52 p.m., a young man with his face covered with a scarf or mask entered the home with a rifle and took two purses. No one was injured, police said.

The suspects are Autumn Mitchell, 19, of Piscataway; Rajuhn Muhammad, 19, of Plainfield; and a juvenile resident of Plainfield. Mitchell has been charged with first degree robbery, various weapons offenses and theft. Muhammad has been charged with a theft. The juvenile has been charged with robbery, weapons offenses and theft.

All of the suspects were identified by the Fanwood and Plainfield police departments within hours of the incident, according to police, and Monday's charges are the result of an investigation that continued through the weekend.

"It's always gratifying when multiple agencies work together," Chief Trigo said. "These investigations are a process. This case shows how valuable mutual aid amongst police departments can be."
