YORKTOWN, N.Y.-Trailing by two goals against Lakeland/Panas, Brewster/Yorktown’s ice hockey squad scored the last four goals, including the game-winner by Justin Groux with 2:23 left in the contest, to wrap up a 6-4 victory on Feb. 11 at the Brewster Ice Arena.
Frank Vigiletti (3G, 1A), Connor Sullivan (1G), Chris Froessel (1G), Kevin Moroney (2A), Colin Dineen (2A), Thomas Mark (1A), an assist by Groux and Dylan Tolbert (21 saves) also contributed for Brewster/Yorktown. On the Rebels’ side, Joe Fareed (2G, 1A), Brett Hanson (1G, 1A), P.J. Kowal (1G), Joe Orza (1A), Thomas Percacciolo (1A), Quinten Evangelou (1A) and Mike Mackey (30 saves) were doing the job.
Brewster/Yorktown fell to Mahopac 5-1 at the BIA on Feb. 9, led by Sullivan (1G), Dineen (1A) and Tolbert (12 saves).
“Honestly, we beat ourselves that game more than they beat us,” Sullivan said. “We played sluggish. Fatigue is a major factor for our team at the moment as we’ve been playing almost every other night for two weeks since we need to make up those games that got cancelled due to snow earlier in the season.”
Brewster/Yorktown lost to visiting North Rockland 5-3 at the BIA on Feb. 6, led by Tolbert (34 saves), Sullivan (1G, 1A), Dineen (1G), Rory McLaughlin (1G) and Connor Henderson (1A).
