A positive event during the COVID-19 crisis was the repaving and reseeding of the North County Trailway. They also improved the drainage with rocks that blend into the area. Westchester County made a great trail even better.
What ruins this bucolic setting is the appearance of dog feces every few feet. Last week, during the high temperatures, the trail smelled putrid from Baldwin Place down to Granite Springs Road. We all enjoy this trail; how can you be so selfish? Here is a great suggestion: Find a stick or branch and toss your dog’s excrement into the woods. Then our walks or bike rides wouldn’t have to be disturbed by your lack of consideration.
Yorktown has a $500 fine for littering. This fine should be enforced on the North County Trailway.
