PORT CHESTER, N.Y.— It’s been a dream season on the tennis courts for Yorktown sophomore Caitlin Ferrante.

Ferrante defeated Julia Andreach 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the state final on Monday, Oct. 31, at Sound Shore Indoor Tennis in Port Chester.

The sophomore reached the state final by defeating Cold Spring Harbor’s Merri-Kelly Hannity 6-4, 10-8, on Oct. 29-30.

In the second set, she trailed 6-4 and forced a tiebreaker to win 10-8.

On Saturday in the quarterfinals, Ferrante faced Briarcliff’s Rebecca Lim, to whom she lost in the sectional final.

This time Ferrante got the better of Lim, winning 6-3, 6-3.
