SHRUB OAK, N.Y. – The Lakeland Central School District Board of Education is moving forward with a plan to renovate baseball and softball fields at Lakeland High School.

Athletic Director Dan Belfi said drainage issues often flood the fields, causing student-athletes to clean up the mess and forcing games to be relocated.

At a school board meeting last month, Belfi proposed three potential remedies, but he urged the board to not spend money on temporary remedies, and instead invest in a permanent solution.
