YORKTOWN, N.Y. – PSCB Bank’s relocation of its Yorktown Heights branch was approved last month by the Planning Board.
The bank will move out of its branch in the Yorktown Green Shopping Center to a new space in the Triangle Center, which was formerly occupied by Chase Bank.
Dawn McKenzie, landscape architect from Insite Engineering, said PCSB made the switch because it cannot build a drive-thru at its current location. The new location, on the corner of Commerce Street and Saw Mill River Road, also has more visibility, McKenzie said.
PCSB Bank is going to create a second drive-thru lane in addition to the drive-thru window that already exists at the building. To accommodate this, the PCSB will create a bypass lane and will eliminate the parallel parking spaces next to the bank. It will also build a canopy over the drive-thru lanes.
McKenzie said PCSB will renovate much of the building. Stephanie Fox, architect, said it will keep the brick facade and slate roof.
The site plan was approved 4-0 by the board, which also declared that the project will not have a significant environmental impact, thus avoiding a review at the state level.
