CORTLANDT, N.Y. – A suspect is at large after a Mobil Gas Station clerk a fought off an armed robbery attempt early Saturday morning, according to the New York State Police.

Police said a man entered the Mobil at 2225 Crompond Road (Route 202) in Cortlandt Manor shortly before 1 a.m. and displayed a firearm. The clerk resisted and, following a struggle, the suspect ran from the store on foot, westbound on Route 202.

Police describe the suspect as a “Hispanic male of light olive complexion, overweight, with no facial hair and a Spanish accent.” He was wearing a blue winter coat with a hood, dark green pants, a light brown shirt, light colored footwear, a dark covering on the lower portion of his face, dark gloves and a black hat.
