YORKTOWN, N.Y. – A 47-year-old Mohegan Lake man was arrested yesterday on allegations that he sexually abused a 10-year-old, according to the Yorktown Police Department.
Matthew Hanney of Lawrence Road has been charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony, after, police say, he subjected a 10-year-old to “sexual contact” on three separate occasions in March.
Police were called to investigate the allegations last Saturday (March 25). Hanney was arrested yesterday following an interview at police headquarters.
He was arraigned at Yorktown Justice Court by Town Justice Gary Raniolo, who issued several temporary orders of protection. Hanney was turned over to the Westchester County Department of Corrections and his bail is set at $500,000.
