YORKTOWN, N.Y.-Boy Scouts of American Troop 173 welcomed four new Eagle Scouts in January.

To earn the rank, the young men completed an Eagle Scout service project to benefit the community or a local organization.

• Ross Miller painted classrooms at Temple Beth Am;

• Ian Schwartz painted curbs and sidewalks to enhance safety at Guiding Eyes for the Blind;

• Jarrett Schwartz painted and repaired a training course for dogs at Guiding Eyes for the Blind; and

• Josiah Wiedenheft gardened, cleared shrubbery and spread mulch at Community Bible Church of Northern Westchester.

Yorktown Supervisor Ilan Gilbert and Councilman Vishnu Patel presented certificates of achievement on behalf of the town of Yorktown to the newly minted Eagle Scouts.
