MOHEGAN LAKE, N.Y. – A Yorktown boy is accused of breaking a window at George Washington Elementary School in an attempt to break into the school, according to the Yorktown Police Department.

Around 10 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the Lexington Avenue school, which was closed for spring recess. Police said they reviewed surveillance tape and determined that a 12-year-old boy threw a brick through a window on the northwest side of the building and made several attempts to enter the school.

The officers went to the boy's nearby residence on Lexington Avenue, where they asked him about the incident with his mother present, police said.

The boy was charged with juvenile delinquency and issued an appearance ticket for the Westchester County Department of Probation on April 18.
