ALBANY, N.Y. – Yorktown’s town comptroller, Patricia Caporale, has been elected vice president of the New York Government Finance Officers’ Association.

Caporale formerly served on the Board as the Downstate Region Council Chair beginning in 2018. In her new role, she will chair the association’s conference committee and is also now in the line of succession to serve as president-elect next year and president of in 2022-23.

Caporale has been an active member of NYGFOA since 2011, attending the association’s local events and annual conference. In 2016, she was on a panel presenting on the topic of Cash Management Best Practices. She also served on two committees reviewing the association’s newly developed training workshops on Internal Control and Debt Management in 2016 and 2017.

The election by the NYGFOA membership was conducted virtually this year due to the cancellation of the association’s spring conference as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Founded in 1979, the New York Government Finance Officers’ Association is a not-for-profit professional association of more than 1,100 members statewide. Its mission is to strengthen the capacity of government finance professionals to manage public finances effectively and responsibly.
