YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Yorktown High School's AP physics class of 2017 was invited on a trip to the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. The tour was made possible by the efforts of Councilman Vishnu Patel, and our teacher, Mr. Moore.
There, we were given a tour of the facility, including the famous THINK Lab and Watson, the supercomputer that won “Jeopardy!” in 2011. Additionally, we were fortunate to visit several experts in various areas of research, including quantum computing and material science. Toward the end of our trip, we sat down for a Q&A session with several key members of the center.
Our class really enjoyed the experience and especially liked viewing and interacting with Watson and the “Jeopardy!” set pieces, and we were thankful for this opportunity to learn about the headquarters of IBM and different STEM-related fields that we may pursue in the future.
We want to thank IBM and Yorktown High School for their support.
