YORKTOWN, N.Y. – The public was invited to have a hot cup of coffee and friendly chat with Yorktown police officers last weekend.

Officers greeted customers at JV Hot Bagels II on Friday, Oct. 27, and at 7-Eleven on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Joining the Yorktown Police Department at the events was United for the Troops, a non-profit group that ships care packages to American soldiers.

Police Chief Robert Noble thanked the owners of the establishments for welcoming him and his officers. He also thanked event co-sponsors Joseph Lucia (Joseph Lucia & Associates) and Raymond Kolkmann (Raymond Opticians) for picking up the tab for the free coffee.

“Teaming up with United for the Troops made this event even better,” Noble said. “Thank you to the people today who offered so many kind words and support for law enforcement. I can't leave out the men and women of the Yorktown Police Department, many of whom come in on their personal time to make this event the success that it always is. I am looking forward to the next Coffee with a Cop!”
