YORKTOWN, N.Y. – The Yorktown Police Department on Friday gave a final salute to Officer Lauren Raczynsky, who was forced to retire from the Yorktown Police Department after a series of devastating medical conditions.

A 2003 graduate of Lakeland High School, Raczynsky joined the force in 2011. Multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia are among the medical issues she is currently batting.

A mural in honor of Raczynsky was recently painted inside Yorktown Police Department headquarters. It reads: “In our family, no one fights alone.”

A video of the final salute is available on the police department's Facebook page.
