Yorktown Sharpshooters Win Elks Lodge Competition

YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Yorktown Elks Lodge No. 2324 crowned several sharpshooters between ages 8-13 at its annual Hoop Shoot competition at Yorktown High School.

The regional competition, held Saturday, Jan. 7, featured 39 students from local schools in three age brackets. The top free throw shooters moved on to the district tournament.

The Hoop Shoot competition is held by Elks Lodges around the country every year. It is free to all participants. This year's Hoop Shoot national finals will take place April 22 in Chicago.
