YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - Top-seeded Yorktown defeated third-seeded Somers 9-4 in the Section 1 Class B girls lacrosse championship game on Thursday to claim its second straight section title.
The Huskers led 6-2 at halftime and limited Somers' offensive opportunities throughout the game, holding Tusker star Livy Rosenzweig scoreless.
Michelle Seger paced Yorktown with four goals. Rilea Fusco had two goals and three assists.
Hannah Tiso netted two goals for Somers, while Katie Campbell added a goal and an assist.
