YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Turkey Mountain Nature Preserve has reopened, a week after reports of aggressive stray dogs forced its closure.
The two dogs were not found after an extensive search of the town-owned 125-acre preserve, said Lt. Tom Gentner. A trail camera was also set up but it did not record any images of the dogs.
"We can't keep the park closed forever," Gentner said. "But if they show up, we'll revisit it."
Gentner said anybody who sees the dogs should notify the police and not engage with them in any way.
