I just finished reading the letter to the editor penned by the Democratic candidates for town board on Sept. 21, regarding the vote of the “town board majority” to support County Executive Astorino’s position of opposing declaring Westchester a Sanctuary County. I could not help but chuckle when I read the part, “The resolution is a slick trick designed to divert attention from the very serious shortcomings of the board majority.” Well I guess the “trick” worked. Ninety percent of the Democratic candidates’ letter complained about this resolution. It appears to me that the Yorktown Democratic candidates are easily distracted from what they call, “...the real issues confronting the town.”
Seems that maybe the Democratic candidates should spend a little more time researching election law instead of purposely violating it!
