Yorktown Police Department National Night Out

The Yorktown Police Department will host its first National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Granite Knolls Park.

The free National Night Out event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and is designed to strengthen relations between the public and the Yorktown Police Department.

Yorktown Police Benevolent Association members will grill hamburgers and hot dogs donated by BJ’s Wholesale Club and the Yorktown Lions. Starbucks, the corporate sponsor of National Night Out, will provide the caffeinated drinks. Mr. Softee will supply the treats.

The night will be filled with music by DJ Travis. The Yorktown Police Benevolent Association will supply an inflatable bouncy house, and there will be a kickball game organized for kids. The Yorktown Elks Lodge No. 2324 will provide bottled water.

The Yorktown Police Department’s supporters include the Yorktown Lions, Alliance For Safe Kids, MADD, United For The Troops, and Hope Not Handcuffs.
