John George Myers

John George Myers, son of Frances (Myers) Goldstein and Lou Myers died on Jan. 22, at his home in Yorktown Heights. Mr. Myers worked primarily as a school bus driver, while simultaneously pursuing a career in writing.

A resident of the Yorktown area since 1947, Mr. Myers was born Sept. 2, 1941, in the Bronx. After a brief residence in Los Angeles, he remained permanently in Yorktown Heights.

Everyone who knew Mr. Myers could not forget his passion for his collection of rare books and memorabilia from the 1920s and ’30s, including antique toys and collectables, which he found at the many flea markets he visited. He also maintained a passion for early Rock n’ Roll music from the 1950s.

Mr. Myers is survived by three sisters (Jane Pullman of Portland, Oregon; Hillarie Goldstein of Franklin, New Hampshire; and Laurie Boutin of Freeport, Maine) and two brothers (Marc Myers and Dan Myers of Briarcliff Manor), as well as good friend Mary Rosetti of Yorktown Heights.
