WEST POINT, N.Y. – Yorktown resident Kenneth (Kenny) Brown is off to basic training after graduating from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point on Saturday, June 13. The 2016 Kennedy Catholic graduate was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant on Saturday, May 23, via an online oath ceremony. While at West Point, Brown studied military history with a minor in space science.

Brown will now continue his training at Fort Benning, Ga. He will first complete the 19-week Infantry Basic Officer Leading Course (IBOLC) and then take on the challenge of Army Ranger School. Following successful completion of training, Brown will be stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
