JOHN: “So guys, I know we have all these awesome sales for the big game. But who’s gonna win?”
CHRIS: “Well, I think San Francisco has the better beers and their defense just can’t be stopped.”
JOE: “Hold on, you can’t forget about Kansas City’s awesome barbecue and high powered offense.”
JOHN: “Both good arguments! But every drought must come to an end, and I say the DeCicco family picks Kansas City to win the big game in a high scoring shootout after waiting 50 long years!”
Mike Meadows, head coach, Lakeland
Kansas City Chiefs 31, San Francisco 49ers 24
I think the 49ers’ offense will have trouble keeping up with the Kansas City offense because San Francisco is so dependent on the running game. It will be hard to keep up if the 49ers fall behind.

Mahopac alum Dave Toub (assistant head coach and special teams coordinator) will help lead the Chiefs to victory.

We all know defense wins championships and the 49ers have been very good stifling opponents on that side of ball. However, Patrick Mahomes has shown himself to be next level great quarterback and leader! He is exciting to watch. In this one, I feel offense will control the outcome. It should be a fun Super Bowl to watch!
Kansas City has gotten off to slow starts throughout the playoffs, and that’s worth keeping an eye on to see if the trend continues. The game within the game will be when the potent Chiefs offense has the ball against the stout 49ers defense. Whomever wins the majority of those battles will hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

The 49ers are used to flying out of the gate. Their pass rush is incredibly dangerous.

After careful consideration, and hours spent combing through statistical analysis, the JILCO team feels that the team that gets to wear their RED jerseys will be victorious!

On the 25th anniversary of their victory in Super Bowl XXIX led by MVP Steve Young, the 49ers will win again.

Both teams have great offensives that can score. I think the difference will be San Francisco’s defense.

I really am not up on football, but I predict the 49ers will win. Good luck to both.

Patrick Mahomes is an incredible talent and very fun to watch, but the combination of San Francisco’s strong run game and elite defense might be too much for him to overcome. I like San Francisco to get some stops when needed and to raise the Lombardi Trophy.

After seeing the final play of the Chiefs’ last drive of the first half in the conference final, I’m all in on the Chiefs and team Mahomes. With the additional threats of Hill and Kelce, this team will be tough to beat. In the end, I’m predicting two things, Chiefs over 49ers, 42-31, and a great game to watch for everyone. Hopefully the commercials will get back to being great, too.

Patty Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill will overwhelm the 49ers defense. The Chiefs defense will shut down the 49ers rushing attack as they did so against Derrick Henry in the AFC Championship.

San Francisco’s defense, led by DE Nick Bosa, will be the difference.

Patrick Mahomes, who has re-invented the position of quarterback, will target Kelce all day. As a die-hard long-suffering Jets fan, I miss the glory days of Namath to Maynard and Sauer.

This year’s Super Bowl should be an exciting one, a powerful Chiefs offense vs. a strong 49ers defense. I think Mahomes and company will ultimately be too much for the 49ers to withstand.
Jack Kaiser, running back, Somers High School
San Francisco 49ers 17, Kansas City Chiefs 10
I think the 49ers defense is going to be too strong and will control Patrick Mahomes.
