ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL – With President Obama in Newark on Friday and President Biden in the Meadowlands today, what gives? Well, it must be the height of election season and the national Democratic royalty is looking for any reason whatsoever to drop in on New Jersey and smile for cameras with Gov. Phil Murphy. Biden will be here today to mark the strategically-timed beginning of ...

ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL – New Jersey is making history tomorrow. Now that we have your undivided attention, we may have over-hyped. That’s right, New Jersey became the first state in the nation to top $1 billion worth of bets as football kicked off in September. The nine casinos and three racetracks raked in $1.01 billion, with $82 million in hefty commissions. The Meadowlands ...

The Jaffe Briefing - October 18, 2021

ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL – It’s a terrific headline: Gov. Phil Murphy raised the state budget by $11 billion! That’s the ongoing message from his gubernatorial challenger, Jack Ciatarrelli. But there are some devils in the details, of course, such as a global pandemic and an enormous influx of federal aid to bail out New Jerseyans. Let’s offer up a dizzying amount of ...
